Another shot of the beach in Anglesea. This time in colour. There is something almost prehistoric about the look of this photo.

Split Point Lighthouse
This shot was taken from Anglesea looking towards Airey's Inlet and the lighthouse. I had to track into a little bit of national park bushland in order to get to a higher vantage point.
At the time the thought did occur that this was probably not my brightest idea, heading into bushland only wearing shorts and thongs (flip flops), no water, the sun about to set, and nobody knowing where I was.
Anything for a good shot, right?

Anglesea Beach in B/W
It has certainly been a while since my last blog post. Just over 5 month. A few people have commented on the fact that I hadn't posted any photos in a long time and wondered whether I had given up on it, meaning the blogging not necessarily the photography. I hadn't.
It's down to the usual excuse of work getting the better of me in terms of time, combined with the fact that I simply haven't been anywhere in a while that seemed worth taking a photo of. Luckily, this Christmas holiday I went down to Anglesea on the Great Ocean Road in Victoria and managed to spend a few days walking the beach with my camera.
This black & white set is the result.

1440 Challenge
This year I participated in the 1440 Challenge run by the Sydney Morning Herald. All participants get given three briefs to which they have to submit one photograph each.
Here are my submissions:
Brief 1 - A place only locals would know
Photo - Surry Hills Markets
Brief 2 - Someone's passion
Photo - Rock Fishing
Brief 3 - A Portrait
Photo - Fashion Designer at Work
While my photos didn't end up taking out the competition, it was still good fun to shoot something to a brief and I am happy with the results.
Here is the link to the official competition website for those of you interested in the winning images:

Two Canons
While the photo of my last post was taken on the Sydney Harbour Bridge, this shot was taken just underneath. The single star in the early evening sky caught my eye. Consequently I decided to frame the canons in a low angle silhouette.
Also, the humour of the moment didn't escape me. Two guys with two Canons taking photographs of two canons...
